I am hopefully a new owner of a DCS system with a Lionel Command Base. Enterned my MTH Engine with no problem, having no luck entering & gettihg the TMCC Engine to respond.
Put in the TMCC engine into the DCS remote and name it a DCS name you want to appear. Then go to edit engine for that engine. It should prompt you to switch engine from RUN to PROGRAM. Then the TMCC engine number will come up and you can number it anything you want [mine came up Engine 1 and I renamed it Engine 1]. Then the remote will prompt you to change the engine from PROGRAM to RUN. You do this and you should be able to select the engine in the DCS and hit start up. BTW, you can do these run to program and program to run by cutting power to track and it will not mess up the this process. My diesel has the switches under the frame. I used a wooden tooth pick and pushed the switch back and forth with track power still on. The steamers may have it inside the cab. Good luck.
Chief Eagles with your help I was able to get the Engine entered. My soft keys read Ax0, AX2, AX7, AX8, AX9. Are these the normal readings ? Please advise.
Thank YOU
ROZY
Yes on the soft keys. RAK gave me the code for them. Will ahve to go upstairs to get the codes. I do know that 8 is smoke off and 9 is smoke on [and holding it will intensify it but do not hold it long or will burn out element]
O is engine reset [stops engine and puts it in forward], the other two are crew talk and tower talk, 8 is smoke off and 9 is smoke on. Your smoke on/off key on your remote will do the same as 9. Your + and - on sounds will turn sound up and down. Boost and brakes do what they say. Labor and drift do the same thing. I have to select an MTH engine to turn remote off as 9 is smoke on for TMCC.
Chief Eagles, Thanks for the info on the AX soft keys. Are those the only ones for the TMCC engines ?
O is reset for engine [stops it and in reverse changes it to forward]. Your regular MTH sound + or - with raise and lower the sound but only three levels.
