HELP! with posting photos.

Until recently there was a post at the top of the first page, aparantly locked in, titled 'Posting photos".

I didn’t read it then, but I need to read it now, and it’s gone - and does not show up in a ‘posting photos’ search.

Help please (I have a Photo Bucket account, but only used it twice, 8 months ago -

(This stuff is such a pain in the #**# - designed by pencil heads!)

View your photo in your account.

Right Click on the photo, scroll down and click properties.

Highlight the properties, right click, click copy. Make sure you get all the information, including the www…

In the CTT message toobar you will see an icon with a tree ion it. Click that icon.

The top line of that box says 'Image URL: right click, and click paste. This will add the information needed to show your photo.

Your photo should appear in the Message box.

Another way; (similiar)

I use Shutterfly,

  • With shutterfly I simply select the files to copy to the Shutterfly location.
  1. (As Kurt indicated), I view the picture, then Right Click on the image, and Select Properties.

  2. Use the Ctrl C key and copy the address of the picture.

  3. Toggle back over to the forum Reply page

  4. I then enter [img] at the begining of a line in the reply. (Make sure you use the braces!

  5. Then do a Ctrl V, which pastes the image address behind the bracket. (Make sure there is NOT a space after the bracket.

  6. Then at the END of the image address I enter [/img] which marks the END of the images address information.

Not necessarily the best way but certainly not worst, and it works.

I use photobucket and all you have to do is goto the pic scroll over it a drop menu will apear goto the bottom link click and then hit ctrl and C at same time come to you post click where you want it and hit ctrl V at same time and your done its there it will even have the code already at each end.

Should be a few BEFORE pics of my layout’s NW corner here.

And here’s the reason why I’m planning a layout expansion in that corner - no more room in my ‘Yard’:

Well, it worked, though I don’t know why there are two of each. Nor why they are large in the reply, but small in the original post. Oh well. guess that’s why I seldom post pics.

In a month or so, should be some new sidings in the NW corner - to give me some additional opperating room.

Looking good I could never get away with a round the room layout like that wife would find some problem or accidently step on something to get me to remove it.

Thanks.

It’s a point of contention at times, but I’ve been getting away with it for quite a number of years so far.

I like running long trains, and this roughly 12 x 15 layout lets me easily run a 20 car consist. On the down side, with only one main line, that keeps everything else bottled up - hence the plan for additional sidings.

What I REALLY want to do is run into the next room. Don’t know if I can get away with that though.

Let’s get this back to the top

I use Shutterfly and I find it very simple. Once my photos are organized and posted to Sutterfly I pick the photo I want and make sure that it is in the larger version - not the thumbnail. I right click with the cursor on the photo I want and hit Copy. I then go to the forum that I am posting to, position the cursor, right click and hit Paste. The picture will appear there in the body of the text that I am writing. That is how I have posted all of the photos in the American Flyer thread.

Ralph

my photos are on the computer how do i get them to the message posts

Open account at photobucket - it’s free. Put your photos there. Then (I got this from mitcheir) copy the IMG address & paste it the address when you click on the ‘tree’ icon here. Paste the IMG - you don’t have to delete the http or anything.
