help with rr-track program

just got it, any experts out there that could help me out, im trying to build a L-shape layout 12 x 8 x 4 ( 2, 4 x 8) and cant figure out how to make it L-shape . In the drawing size menu only giving me 2 sizes width and depth thanks for the help in advance.

The ‘layout size’ I use for the ‘room’. I then create the base for the layout in the ‘terrain editor’. This gives you white areas for the room/walkways and the ‘shaded green’ is the layout surface. I’ve never had problems doing them this way…

Now wait till you use the ‘track’ feature to create multiple levels and try to join them… [banghead] you can get it to work but it takes time and patience.

My input is to take your time and experiment with the program. That program is fantastic but it takes time and patience to learn how to operate it. In order to create an L shape start out by using the standard rectangle you described (width and depth). Next, use the tool that allows you to draw lines in order to make your L shape inside the initial rectangle. Once you learn to draw a line you will fing creating the L to be easy. Hope this helps you!

I too have found RR-Track an indispensible program for building tight, design intensive layouts and have been with the program since it’s floppy/Win95 days. May I recommend that you get into the habbit of backing up often, and before you do anything tricky. The floppy program was very stable, however the new version (4.xx)/XP is very crash prone, regardles of updates.

Not to be argumentative:however, I have yet to experience a “crash” with v4. I can hardly imagine planning without it.Backing up often is a good idea. The accessory libraries are outstanding.
