The older track that i have…besides the Bachmann EZ Track…i use the old atlas snaptrack when i run out of the other stuff…but the problem with the track is that it keeps moving and when u give it the slightest bump…all of the snaptrack moves!!![:(!]. I hate it! I can’t nail it down becauze they always go in sideways and then it moves the track anywayz…any ideas besides soldering (? on spelling) or gluing?
If you take a pair of pliers and gently squeeze the connectors together, that should help some. Makes the connection tighter, but still not bulletproof.
And if you have enough space, try mounting the track to a piece of 1 1/2 or 2 inch thick styrofoam board, the pink or blue kind. It’s light enough you can move it around, you can build it in sections and take it apart if needed to put it away. You can use small nails, adhesive caulk or even two sided tape to fasten the track down. The nails won’t give you any trouble with this stuff, just use some needle nose to pu***hem into the foam- no trying to beat them into plywood.
Good Luck!
Spiking the track will work - If you have the right spikes and the right tool for sinking them - not a hammer! If the plywood or whatever is really hard, predrill a very small starter hole. There are pliers made for driving spikes or you can make a set from needlenose pliers by cutting a small groove to hold the spike.
thanx guys now another question…where do u get the *** foam…i’ve searched everywhere.
