how do you all get your pictures to show up under the dotted line?
In your signature section of your profile you link to the URL of the photo. You must have a host site like rrpicturearchives.net to upload your picture to.

You have to bracket the link with img tags like this
[ img]http://www.trainweb.org/csxphotos/photos/CW44AC/0001CSX-bc.jpg[ /img]
without the space after the [ brackets
or click on edit and look at this:
Just keep the images small, and to a minimum. You want to show them off, but if they take too long to load, no one will wait for them. A lot of big images also stretches the thread out and makes it hard to read.
I just took all the images off my sig. I may add some again at a later date.
I quit useing sig pictures because Mark H. asked me not to. He and many others here are still on dial up and the sig pictures make loading a thread take much longer. I’m not saying not to use sig pix. I just know what it’s like on dial up and I don’t want to make it worse then it is for you guys. Something to consider.
I’m so used to my cable modem connection here, it never occurred to me that loading those images might be a problem to some. I therefore have followed your lead. I was getting tired of using that shot anyway…
…Besides, I like my popcorn munchin smilee better. I still get a chuckle out of it from time to time.
