can somebody please help me. I was wondering what locomotive would be better for switching a small yard a GE U28b or a GE 35 TON. don’t have the money to power my SW1200 right now but it could be coupled to one of these locos above.

I don’t know a great deal about either model so perhaps another modeler would be of more assistance but I would think the GE U28B would be best model to use in most situations. The 35TON only had 4 axles on the rails versus 8 with UBoat. Additionally the UBoat would have much greater horsepower than the 35TON. If your model layout yard is very small and switches only a handful of cars a day then perhaps you should use the 35TON. Otherwise perhaps you could always station the 35TON at one of your larger industries and retain the UBoat for yard operation.
