SLC was a great time! Met plenty of cool people from all over the counrty, Including TRAINS Magazine’s Andy Cummings. I also met this older fellow who was retired and had left his home in Georgia on June 4th and had put on thousands of miles traveling around the counrty Shooting everything from Animals to Landscapes to Trains!
But enough of the blabbering, I guess I should show you guys some photos eh? They were set up on a Wye that curved from facing north to facing west. And it was from 11am to 2 pm so the light was actually pretty horrible for the situation.
First off I started walking down the line (They were all coupled together) Just taking photos of the locomotive from the front corner of the cab.

Then as I walked back to the front and noticed in the little strea there were some baby ducks. So here are some ducks to look at. Just make sure a certian cat doesnt get ahold of theese guys. (Sorry Mookie)

And then a Dragonfly graced us with his presence

WOW. Great pics man. I loved all the head on shots of the cabs! Sweet idea… Thanks for posting. Yeah, the ducks were cute too.
Was it pretty crowded?
Awesome photos. I enjoyed them a lot!! [8D]
The ducks added a very nice touch! [:D]
I can’t say thanks enough for putting those neat pics up for all to see. Nice work![bow]
Great photos, thanks for sharing them! Btw- the plant is a thistle.
Cool! I thought that plant was a thistle, but I wasn’t sure. Thanks Everyone!
Great pics, Miniwyo!! Thoroughly enjoyed looking at them. Also really liked the duck pictures!! Made me remember growing up on our small farm. Yes, we had at least a couple of ducks in our pond.
Thanks for the comments everyone! Too bad more people from the forum here couldn’t make it, it would have been a great venue for a members meeting!
UP 1989 is the prettiest sister of that family…discuss.
No argument there - 1989 is one of my favorites, too. Though, 1995 is real pretty as well. [8D]
Y’all know which one I prefer (see avatar).

That is quite the shot Brian! I would LOVE to actually see it fullsize! I am pretty partial to the CNW unit too. Although all of them are beautifully done.
The purple flowered pokey thing is a Scotch Thistle. Around these parts jokingly referred to as the Eastern Oregon state flower. They can get HUGE, as in 6’ plus.
Nice pics!
Just head on over to my site on rrpicturearchives- look for the “This one makes my day” album or something to that effect.
