Hey Athearn!!

Just a little hint to Athearn. When you post a picture of a new locomotive on your website, make sure the dynamic brake hatch is on the right way.[#oops]

http://www.athearn.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=ATH78920 It is still a nice unit and no this is not an Athearn bash, I like their products. This is just a little humor.

Yeah no kidding… big oops!

It must have been “built” on a Monday morning or a Friday afternoon!

{not bashing either}

That is quite turned around isn’t it. I have one that that also fits equally well both ways. I thought it looked a little strange after I installed a decoder in it. Turned the DB cover around and normalcy was restored.

Jeff,I once removed the DB blister on a Atlas GP38 for some cleaning(the fan had coffee in it-please don’t ask) and in my haste I placed it on backwards and off to the club…Of course it took several weeks for me to live that down at the club…[:O]

Do they have Monday mornings or Friday afternoons in Chinese factories? [:-^]

Good question…all I know is that someone over there is slacking, because i’ve been waiting for some SD50 handrails that have been out of stock for a good long while now!

There’s a first for me seeing a DB hatch put on backwards. I’ve seen it where they’ve had detail parts loose or derailed before though.

Correct me if I’m wrong Athearn is the only company thay’s not whining about the economy (yes-price increases count, and sticking to release dates)

PS: Friday=Wang chung after end of shift

Kind of OT, but the mistake was probably made by the photographer, who probably wouldn’t have known if the thing were upside down… I saw an ad a few years ago for a Glock pistol, showing how the shape of the grip was reminiscent of certain parts of the female anatomy, and the bullets had been placed in the magazine backwards!

unlikely in thiscase, as the modelarrived to the photogrpher pre asembled. Derailments though yes. Also, I think Athearn uses a funky 3in radius to pose trainsets
