When did freight cars change from the “Balto & Ohio” lettering to the “B & O”?
I’m not sure exactly when the change in markings occured. If you don’t get an acurate reply on this forum, the historians and rivit counters of the B&O yahoo group can certainly tell you even which and when the amperstand was changed. Probably even have the B&O memos on the paint and font in the files.

A quick overview of the equiptment seemed to me that the change probably was around WW1.
I could be mistaken.
It was after Danial Willard died.
