we all got those headlamps or else we couldnt see at night whats yo glow show?
The factory bulb in this Life-Like Proto2000 E6 was poor lighting that leaked into the cab and through the frame onto the ground. So, I added an LED headlight and addressed the light leakage situation. It’ll blind you now . . . and no leakage!

nice i honestly wish i had a headlamp like this on my sd60m for the night runs i do on the outdoor layout. ironically i found out by accident a fireant is no match to an H O SD60M by proto
Well, I actually wound up making a short video. But, sadly, since I can’t upload videos for some reason, I had to take several screenshots of the already horrendous quality video…
The real question is “WHY IN THE ^$%#&%$ WORLD DID I DECIDE TO RECORD A VIDEO IN THE FIRST PLACE?!”
their beautiful especially the caboose and honestly a video would be kinda cool especially if you have each car on the train lit up im wondering now if you could change the bulbs in passenger cars to tinted colored thatd be neat to make a party train(kinda like a party bus but a train instead) especially if you could make the color change in the traincar or cycle through diffrent colors
(like those led strips do)
Thanks! That caboose is actually the fanciest-lighted car that I have, with the alternating rear lights. Anyway, I like the idea of a “party train” and I think that I have a few ideas as to how it could be done. Obviously, a short LED strip could be inserted in but that becomes expensive. A more practical option might be to use one of these (Amazon.com: Chanzon 100 pcs 3mm RGB Multicolor Fast Blinking (Multi Color Changing) Dynamics LED Diode Lights (Flashing Round DC) Bright Lighting Bulb Lamps Electronics Components Flicker Light Emitting Diodes : Industrial & Scientific) LEDs instead. They run on about 3v, so wiring two in series and then using this power supply (Amazon.com: NOYITO Three-Terminal Regulator Power Supply Module LM7805 5V LM7812 12V Regulator Module 3A Rectifier Filter Power Converter (Pack of 2) (DC 05V) Green : Electronics) would work. So that you wouldn’t have to put a power supply in every passenger car, you could run these electrical connectors (Amazon.com: 10 Pairs 2.0mm Spade 2P Cable Lead Plug Connector Male and Female for 1S Lipo Battery Charging Drone Syma X5C X5SW SNAPTAIN S5C : Toys & Games) between each car. Only problem is that they’re directional, meaning that you couldn’t turn the car around as opposed to the rest. I’m sure that someone has that kind of plug somewhere, though.
I thought of maybe doing something similar with a locomotive using micro LEDs attached to a “harness” of wires (not in the traditional sense of a wiring harness) that could be hooked up to the outside of the train. The idea would be to represent Christmas lights, such as on this real example on the Black Hills Central.
