Not that anyone gives a rat’s rear end where I’ve been. But little league baseball season is finally over for me and my kids, so back to the layout. Missed reading all of your responses and ideas.
Trying to build the DPM ‘MT Arms’ hotel kit currently for the layout. Spent about 2 hours at the local craft store (Michael’s) in town and got about a 1/2 dozen stares from the patrons. I was the only guy in the store, and I was there for a while. I felt like a kid in a candy store! Had some really cool stuff. Their paints were 1/2 price compared to the LHS.
Anyway, hope is all good with you guys, and just wanted to say hi. By the way, for anyone who cares, the gatewaynmra.com website has been an awesome help in terms of building and detailing my kit. Much help. Kudos to them.

Welcome back. I love Michaels, and I have learned to put up with all those females in the store, most of whom are totally lacking in understanding of what a real modeler craftperson is all about.
Thanks for respondig Art. Visited Minneapolis for the Memorial Day weekend, and found that St. Paul and Minneapolis to be a wonderful part of the country. Liked it very much. Now only if 3M would wire me, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Wife and kids loved Mall of America, so did I. Understand that the Twins catcher is from St. Paul, very cool. Think his name is Mornue or something like that. Anyway, thanks for responding.

Kansas22, from your name, I would venture to guess that you’re from Kansas, but what part? I live in Missouri, and we’ve been in the spotlight all week from a building that collapsed. If you’re ever in the Truman Lake area, shoot me an email and make plans to drop by. The layout’s under construction and the tea is ice cold in the summer and the coffee/hot cocoa (no, not in the same cup ala Starbucks) is piping hot in the winter.
PS Don’t knock Little League. I led the league in walks (was afraid of getting beaned after seeing what happened to Tony Conigliaro. Guess I’m dating myself, huh?). But, we sure had fun!!

Thanks for responding. No, not knocking Little League at all. Coach both my kids teams, and enjoy the heck out of it. But a LOT of the COACHES and PARENTS really ruin it for a lot of the kids. No, not from Kansas. Played ball at Wichita State in the early '80’s. Tried to get the nickname Wichita, but they told me it was already taken, so I settled for Kansas. Would love to see the layout, so would my kids. Are you near St. Louis or Jeff City? Maybe could make a weekend out of it and take in a Cardinals or Royals game or something. Seen enough pics of your layout to know that I can never eclipse it, so I would like to see a masterpiece to give me motivation to finish mine.
