Hey Kalmbach Dudes- thanks for making the trip to Titletown

Good evening Kalmbach Crew,

Thanks for making the trip to the Titletown Train show in Green Bay this weekend. Y’all had a nice booth at the show.

They had a great mix of stuff at the show (models, prototype photos, video, etc.) The modular layouts gave a good cross section of scales too.

I liked the Operation Life Saver display with the “compacted” car.

Seems like a good turnout again this year. Thanks for venturing north, in spite of the rumors that the snow hadn’t all melted up here yet! Hopefully it was worth your while. [:D]

Any pictures from the event?

It was a good show. I was able to buy an original document showing the assignments of locomotives on the Chicago & North Western in 1969 - the very year I am modeling. Larry Bunce was the seller. He has a tremendous inventory of old RR material.
I was also able to get some very very old issues of the Chicago & North Western Historical Society’s bulletin – at premium prices but I have not seen these issues for sale anywhere at any price, so the laws of economics work their wonders, I guess.
What I should have done was spent the rest of the day railfanning as Green Bay WI remains a very interesting town from a railroad perspective. Nothing like it was of course but still very interesting. As I came over the bridge from I-43 I had a moment of shock when I saw an Alco switcher in C&NW paint backing a cut of freight cars down below – then I remembered – oh yeah, the National Railroad Museum! LOL
