Hey superstreets experts, I have questions.

On the thread about Paya trolley conversions, I’ve mentioned that I’m setting out to build an operationg Disneyland Monorail using Marx M10,005 UP cars and the motor from an MPC 2-4-0. What I’m wondering is #1 whether or not the Superstreets track system would be compatible with the flanges on these cars, but also whether or not the MPC motor would operate on the D16 curves? Any hepl would be greatly appreciated!

Well, Superstreets are O gauge three rail track and D16 cuves form a 16" circle so I don’t know if your MPC will run on such a tight curve.

And then, I don’t know if you could still call that a monorail using that system. [:D]

Very true! [(-D] But I suspect the flat surface may look better than 3 open rails! [(-D]

Down in Miami they have an elevated rail system called the people mover. It’s a pretty cool ride.

Sometime ago I found some info on the net about building your own monorail system. It used 2 tubular rails set back to back. I think it was on youtube. I haven’t found where I saved that info yet and my puter is too old and slow to deal with youtube.

is this it: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mqhEejVExs8)? Looks pretty similar to what you describe, anyway.

Unfortunately I can’t youtube either with my ancient dial-up modem. [:'(] But I do appreciate the effort! [Y] [B] [:)]

If you have a public library close by, they have computers you can use for free and they are fast enough to view youtube. On occasion I go there to watch train videos.

Yes! That’s the one. Thanx!
