Hiawatha Hobbies in Waukesha,WI will ship to Canada !

They will ship to NEW ZEALAND, England , & Australia as well !

They have thier own website !

They carry many model Railroad items !

I am a regular customer there !

Yes they will. It is a busy and jamb-packed store. I go there often.

Mike.

I, too, have had great success with Hiawatha Hobbies. When Walthers was trickling out the Broadway Limited cars most sellers were in the $70+ range. Hiawatha had plenty of stock and their price was WELL below MSRP.

I have not visited the store but they do a very respectable mail order business. http://www.hiawathahobbies.com/

Good day to all, Ed

Am I to assume he has more store stock then he shows on his web page?

I have ordered some hard to find RTR cars from that shop in the past but, seems now his web page shows little or no stock.

Waukesha, WI or Pewaukee, WI?

Rick,Its the same link shown-Pewaukee, WI.

Thanks, Larry.

Are they associated with Walthers in some way?

Rich

They had a large inventory on the shelves when I was there the day after Thanksgiving, including some good deals on select Fox Valley models. Hiawatha Hobbies is also a large presence at Milwaukee’s Trainfest each November. To my knowledge their only relationship with Walthers is that they are a dealer and get stuff from Walthers, but they also have plenty of Athearn/Horizon on the shelves so clearly they are not exclusive with Walthers.

Dave,Then they don’t keep their web site updated and should be called to see if this or that item is in stock?

I have order from them before like I mention and was pleased with the service and fast turnaround.

Their web site is nothing compared to what is in store. The store is packed! Shelves packed, a constant stream of shipments coming and going, customer service can be slow, because it’s usually just old Erv and his son, but just have patience, and look around, you’ll be taken care of. I know when they are busy, it’s hard to get them on the phone. They even had a good supply of track from Atlas, and other manufacturers when everyone else was out.

A huge stock of HO, N and O scale, rolling stock, locos, and buildings, scenery, etc, etc. Walthers is like the main dealer/supplier for just about all shops in the area, so just about everyone uses Walthers stock numbers to order and look-up. And Erv’s wife also handles 1" scale stuff for doll houses and crafts.

Not trying to be a “commercial” for them, but I go there alot. South Side Trains, and Somerfeld Trains are great too. All of them have a BIG store at Trainfest. South Side Trains has an Ebay store, too.

Mike.

I cannot really answer that because I don’t use the website. They are fairly lightly staffed and I’d be surprised if they can keep their website up to date as if it was also their inventory sheet (in comparison the Walthers website is pretty much also their inventory).

I guess I would call rather than assume they do not have something just because it is not on their website.

Dave,Thanks…I know I found several long OOP RTR cars on their web site that is now in my collection.I would love to go to such a hobby shop.

Mike,I don’t see your comments as a commerical…I see then as a happy customer…I can not complain of the on line service I recieved…The turn around was one of the quickest I’ve seen-5 days from order to delivery.
