High speed rail - Albany to New York City?

State Senator Joe Bruno announces 5 million dollar feasibility study. http://www.wnyt.com/x4096.xml?ag=x156&sb=x183

I don’t think that you would have much riders

Actually, Silver, you might have a lot of riders! Not all of them might take the whole trip, but the overall passenger level could be quite reasonable – if not downright crowded.

This route would be perfect for high-speed rail. I would like to see it to Buffalo or up to Montreal.
Thats the plan in PA Harrisburg-Philadelphia high speed line(restoring the Amtrak line).

thay were going to do something like this from binghamton ny to syracuse ny and if it work out and had a good amount of riders . maybe extend to some other bigger citys but its been three years and still nothing [:(]

High speed rail NY - Albany would have lots of riders and also improve ridership by saving some time for trips farther west and north to Saratoga Springs and Montreal, to Schencectady and Utica and Buffalo. The stops at Croton Harmon, Rhincliff, and Hudson would be retained by most trains, some also stopping at Poughkeepsie, and there would be some non-stops also.
