High-Speed Rail Keeps Train Makers on Track - WSJ Article - Weds. Oct. 21 2009

Just interesting - all wold be for overseas lines, though it appears that GE and Bombardier may build some:

‘‘More broadly, though, Russia’s new trains mirror a global push in high-speed rail that spans from China to the U.S., an effort that is buffering Siemens AG, Hitachi Ltd., Bombardier Inc. and other industrial giants against the economic slump.’’

Our Soviet brothers have been working on high speed trains for 10 years and today still not totally operational, we will see how they run at 45 below, high speed trains in North America? It will be 10 or 20 years before you get to ride on one and then it will be short distance city to city, North America is a little bigger than Switzerland, notice the train makers are using words like, may, likely, possibly, soon, feasibility and a group of other terms, can’t wait to see the first prototype, they have been flashing drawings of high speed trains for years but that’s as far as they go.
