High speed rail opponents appeal to California Supreme Court

Wonder how things would be now if this ignorance prevailed during the inception of the Eisenhower Interstate Highway system?
People seem to forget the Interstate System was controversial at the time of it’s inception.
Trouble is, Mr. Clegg; most of the routing are proposed. L.A. County supervisor Michael Antonovich proposed another routing for the leg between Burbank and Palmdale through the San Gabriel mountains and there’s no concrete routing as of yet. Also there several proposals in the northern end of the HSR line. I hope I have cleared this matter up for you.
You have to admit, there’s been an extremely poor job communicating HSR to the public. Have you tried to find out where the alignments go? Have you been to the website and tried to see the difference between proposed alignments? You have to dig through engineering documents to see orthoganal views. Come on people. Video game technology is cheap now. Build the environments and let people see, play, and interact with them. See the benefits. Change, adjust, and simulate different data inputs. When will TRAINS do an article on this?

I have an idea. Let’s keep pouring billions into airport remodels. Lets keep dragging half-million pound airplanes to 30 thousand feet and burning millions of gallons of fuel doing so. Let’s keep standing around airports for two hours waiting to clear security. Let’s keep riding those airborne cattle cars where a person has to literally fight for leg space. Jeeze, Americans are so dumb.
The Crazy Train if it is to be built should start in L.A or Riverside and run down to San Diego where there would
be a bigger ridership to finance the train to be built north thru
the central valley segment. Building the southern extension
last will cost billions more with in the next five years.
California, Land of the Luddites! It seems like every project that anyone wants to undertake in the State of Kalifornia has so many detractors right from the getgo that I am amazed anything ever gets built (except, of course, more freeways).
Wasn’t this the same Michael Antonovich who fiercely railed against the Metro Red Line subway in Los Angeles? And now he favors an underground rail line to Palmdale? What gave him a change of heart or is this just more of playing politics to delay the project?
There is nothing wrong with more Freeways in California as long as they remain FREE. California needs to work on its water projects before it needs high speed rail. The water needed for the construction will cost billions more in lost crops for farmers and feeding millions of people outside of our state. Remember there are more people inside some of our counties then there is in the state of Kansas.
