I want to build a high steel trestle that is curved but I can find no information on the top foot of the build (plenty found on superstructure though). Also anyone know of a source of footings for the towers other than Mr. Plaster?
There was an article in a recent issue of the other major model railroad publication where the writer used old desktop computer keyboard keys to make them himself. He filled the little depression on the top of the key with model putty, smoothed it out, and then painted them a concrete color when dry. They looked passable in the photo that accompanied the article.
That is very clever and will save the next one I run across but what I need is the taller ones but I will check out stuff I normally through out to see if I can come up with something similar.
You can cut footings from extruded foam most any height you want.
Hi there: Have you thought about obtaining some single short trestle bridges. The bridges I’ve crossed were
a series of straight bridges, the track curved around over the straight sections at the required radius or degrees.
The bridge bents also made of steel and rising high to meet the bottom of the bridge. The bents sat on cement
foundations. Is your bridge very high up?
