Hijacked coal train

Saw a strange news item about a apparent hijacking of a coal train on Christmas Eve. The motive power was left on the tracks, but the loaded gons are missing with the only evidence being reindeer hoofprints near the tracks.

One eyewitness thought he saw an old obese guy in a funny suit muttering about his naughty list.

Merry Christmas everyone

I’m sure that there are many places in this world where kids would love to get a load of coal for Christmas. I’m sure that I am not the only person on this forum that grew up with a coal-fired furnace.

Merry Christmas!

Since when did the DM&E begin running the SDReindeer-ACe’s?

Was this a UP coal train by chance? If so, then that’s what they get for being naughty, and painting over some really great paint schemes! (and charging everyone to use it) [|(] Good job Santa!!!

Ouch.

Took the words out of my mouth! (And a few others, I’d guess!)

Actually, probably not. Santa was interested in lumps, and that’s more a characteristic of eastern coal. I think that the stuff coming out of Wyoming would merely tarnish his clothes, like ashes and soot. ________________________________________________________________________ Besides which, as one of the elves who looks at such things, I’d say that UP has a lot of good marks on its list this year–I can think of a couple of eastern and/or northern railroads that would be more deserving of coal, and may yet be forced to take their lumps.

Did anyone ever find out where the train went? I head something about excess coal being found in Washington DC on Christmas day.[:D]

Probably went into the stockings of all the technologically challenged “global warming” gurus who haven’t yet recognized that the US is a net CO2 consumer (thanks to forests and agrobusiness - which they vilify!)
