Historic MR/Kalmbach videos -- are where?

Neil’s editorial in the January issue says that some videos about the history of MR and Kalmbach are on the website as part of the 80th anniversary celebration. I have tried looking just about everywhere and evidently they are well hidden. Has anybody found them?

Dave Nelson

Maybe it’s not January yet?

This sounds like some of the Histroy According to Hediger videos. Use the search box above to search on Hediger.

Enjoy

Paul

They may not be in there yet. I’ve searched, all over and did not find them. Neil said they can be found in the Online Extra’s section of our all-new website. But no luck!

I can’t find a lot of things on the new website. The old webssite was a lot better!!! Please change it back, I can’t find anything!!! I also hate the new forum software, haven’t been on the forums a lot lately since the new software is so unuserfriendly!!!

Frank is correct. In the magazine article, Neil says that the videos are in the Online Extra’s section of this website.

But, after an exhaustive search of the Online Extra’s section, they are nowhere to be found.

C’mon Neil, what’s the deal?

Rich

Maybe because it’s not January yet?

Could be, maxman, but Neil did say that the videos were out there when the magazine first was distributed in late November.

Rich

Maybe so, but magazine is already out and one would expect that things would and should be as stated, just saying.

So I should look for them about the time I find the March issue in the mailbox? It may not be January, but it’s “Kalmbach January.”

Dave Nelson

When I look at the videos, they are still listing the sneak peek at the DECEMBER issue, so yeah, wait a little while. Sure, the January issue already came in the mail (and I’ve had the digital edition clsoer to 2 weeks now), but the site tends to change about the time the next issue hits the newstands, not the extra-early mailing most of us get.

At least my mail person is not a railroader - I always get my issue on time. May years ago, the mailman in my old neighborhood was caught many times with his truck parked ont eh side fo the road, takign a ‘break’ and reading magazines out of the mail stack.

Randy,

My Mailman, admitted, to me, that he would read it all the time and asked me questions, about it. I got him a Gift sub., for 25.00 bucks and he was tickled pink, another convert.

We will more than likely, see the video’s around Christmas, seem’s fitting.

Cheers, [D]

Frank

Another nice gift would be to fix the many issues with this site [G] [(-D]

When the “Model Railroader - Video Plus” site started, MR moved all the “According to Hediger” videos from the the MR website to the Video Plus site. Unless they’ve moved them back, I assume they’re still there.

However they’re not mentioned in the Jan 2014 editorial. It says that “we’ve grouped three of Kalmbach Publishing Co.'s archive videos about Al Kalmbach and Model Railroader magazine. They can be found in the Online Extras section of our new website.”

I am bumping up my own post – unafraid and unblushing – because I am STILL not seeing the historic Kalmbach videos that Neil talked about and now they are already promoting the following issue. So what gives?

Dave Nelson

Send a PM to Neil or Steven and ask them.

Rich

Hi Guys,

These videos were on our corporate site and got missed when we transferred over videos during the redesign process. The videos are on the home page now, the first item under Online Extras. Here’s a direct link

Thanks, Dana![tup]
