In the last week I have received two new catalogs, one from Historic Rail and one from Walthers. Funny that they both should come about the same time. [;)]
The Walthers catalog is not the big ones like you find at the LHS but only about 64 pages. The Historic Rail catalog has 64 pages also. [?]
Now there have been several thread lately about military railroads and military equipment. In the Historic Rail catalog (Summer 2004) look on pages 55 and 56, and the back cover too, for military items. (I have one of the books shown – United States Military Railway Services.) In the Walthers catalog see pages 43 and 62 for military items.
Of course many items in either catalog could be customized for a war layout. Many engines would also be fitting for WWII or later layouts.
If you don’t get these catalogs, they are free and both have 800 numbers to call. If you need one of the numbers just email me, I will be glad to give it to you.
