The tall guy on the right is my grandfather when he worked on the Belfast & Moosehead Lake RR. The inspection car is B&ML No.90. I don’t know who the shorter guy is.

Nice Pics, one and all. I love old railroad photos.[tup]

I have about a quarter gig of old rail photos–but none here at work. Oh, I do have these.

I really like that automobile.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their photos!

wow

B&ML No.90 was given that number to reflect it’s original cost to the RR…$90.00!

Great pics everyone…Thanks!!!

Was the B&ML in Maine?

It used to run from the port town of Belfast, Me. to the interchange with the MEC at Burnham Junction, Me. 33 miles away. Two years ago the rails in Belfast were taken up and for the first time in nearly 140 years Belfast was without a railroad. The rails now end at the city limits. The new headquarters of the railroad is in Unity, Me. It continues on as a tourist road and I think it’s America’s third oldest continuously operating railroad.
