Jim, terrific story and even more amazing photos! I really thought that railfan trips like this were a more recent occurrence. I had no idea that these were being organized back in the 50’s. The quality and detail in the color photographs really blew me away and made the story so much more enjoyable.

As a life long resident of St Louis, I loved the Wabash story. I remember those cars THUNDERING through the Delmar station. Very fun.

Thanks for another great story, Jim. I would love to include the Wabash Cannonball on the layout I am planning. Has anyone produced this historic train in HO?
