History behind the Train Miniature company??

Hello, I really like to pick up Train Miniature reefers whenever I can. I really like them, but never knew anything about the company Train Miniatures. Can someone fill me in on a little info on them? When were they in business? Why did they go out of business?etc. Thanks

There have been several Forum threads over the years on this very topic, including some that I contributed to I don’t know if this link to the list lasts very long but give it a try.

The HO Seeker website has Train Miniature literature to review. Many of the Train Miniature kits, or at least the tooling, live on in the Walthers line. BTW By no means is this the oldest tooling still being offered to model railroaders – the Mantua metal steamers are still around, Athearn is still selling refurbished versions of some of their older stuff, Varney plastic lives on in a few lines, and Con Cor continues to offer some freight cars that are carried over from old Revell tooling.

I remember these in the early 1970s on a friend layout. My favorite was the Century Beer reefer. I liked the subtle color better than the N scale MicroTrains #47090 I have now. Not knocking MicroTrains. I just liked that car. And I don’t even drink beer!
