I have a brass United PRR 2-8-2 (bought in 1968) that has lost the main driver crankpins and need to know where I can find replacements.
The pins are steel, 5/64" diameter (.078-.080) and about 5/16 long with 0-80 threads extending about .100" (about 7/64) on one end. The originals had a screwdriver slot on the other end, but that’s not necessary. I’ve already contacted Bowser, but theirs are a different design. Can anyone help?

That’s too old for those guys on 28th st but if our Nigel is watching, two bits
he has a suggestion.
Have you contacted NWSL (NorthWest Short Line)? I know they carry a line of replacement parts. Maybe they have the crankpins you need.
Hi Ken;
Some of Bowser’s are pretty close, the ones for the Challenger could probably be chucked in a drill and turned down with a fill to size.
Greenway http://www.greenwayproducts.com/index.shtml may have what you are looking for.
Caboose Hobbies in Denver is another possibility. http://www.caboosehobbies.com/
And finally, this may be the time to invest in a small lathe (or find a person with one) and just make a replacement.
