where can i find the info on mounting trucks on con cor amtrak cars the right way so the cars dont lean and what are the right trucks to put on them and couplers, also any other info on them to detail the cars right, thank you
Are these cars new or old? I have some 70s and 80s Con-Cor passenger cars that still roll well and do not wobble at all. They have been upgraded to metal wheelsets, body mounted couplers and additional weight. You may need to buy some new push pins or add washers between the truck and body.
As for detailing them, do a Google image search for Amtrak or visit a site such as http://www.rrpicturearchives.net. Even the older Con-Cor cars had basic under frame details but most of it is blocked by the skirting. Grab irons are basic, again look at the photos and there are many suppliers of the parts.
yes the cars are phase 2 from the 70s,80s. they seem to be new cars, its like the push pins are not going in all the way. what brand of body mounted couplers did you use? ill look in to the washer idea too and try to fix this, thanks for the help if any more ideas send them my way. thank again.
