HO Bachmann N&W J main replacement gear needed...

Hi gang. Just wondering if anyone out there might have an old HO Bachmann N&W J that doesn’t run anymore that they might want to get rid of ?. I’ve got a friend that has one that the main gear is stripped out in and needs replacing. I wrote Bachmann, but they weren’t much help, and said that since the loco was no longer in production that they more than likely didn’t have the gear in stock. That’s the first time they’ve ever told me anything like that… Anyways, if someone out there has one of these old locos and wants to get rid of it for a few bucks, let me know.

Check with Bowser, I replaced the whole runing gear on mine.

Did Bachmann say they would not fix it? You may be able to send it to them and get a new loco for $20 or so if I remember right. Far better alternative if it’s one of the old pancake motor jobs.
