HO baseball players

Does anyone know of HO scale baseball players on the market? I’m thinking of entire teams rather than the 5-6 kids that are available. I want to do a turn of the 20th century minor league ball game and I need realistic players.

Thanks, PF [:p]

Check Walthers catalog for Preiser figures. This question pops up every couple of months.

Maybe you could model our Kansas City Royals loosing a game. That would be prototypical!

Ed

Woodland Scenics has some. I’ve seen it at my LHS.

I had already checked the Walthers catalog and all I could find by Preiser was a batter. I’m kind of hoping to have to somebody to pitch too. Maybe some fielders. I do appreciate the suggestion though.

PF,

Here’s the ones I was talking about:

I talked to a fellow at a Division 5 show in NE Ohio this weekend and he has an inside track to Preiser. He says they are going to produce a full team of adult players available next year. They will be unpainted since he figures most modelers will want to paint them to favorite team colors and stocking dozens of uniform colors would be a headache.
Preiser currently has a batter and a pitcher.

Wow I just sold a beautiful set of Baseball players here is a pictrure of them. There were 9 players from one team, 1 player at bat, 1 player on base, a umpire. Sold it for $8.

Ed,

I was at that show last weekend. How did you like it? I wondered around for 3+ hours. Was tempted to buy some things but didn’t.

Tom

A company called, if I recollect correctly, Mini-metals made HO scale baseball teams (in metal, as you might gather, and pre-painted) in the 90’s. All of their figures were rather costly which might have contributed to the company’s disappearance. You might be able to find them on E-Bay or at trade shows.

Tom…
That show and the Fall Berea show have been an annual pilgrimage fro me for years. I was tempted to spend money, and I admit, I did spread a little wealth among the dealers.
RR “flea markets” aren’t what they used to be as many of the dealers are more commercial businesses instead of individuals selling off surplus. But if you browse long enough there’s deals to be had! It’s also good to see new products demonstrated and many new items that never make it into the ads or the Walthers catalog!

Ed

Butch,
Darn, that looks just like what I want. I guess I should have starting thinking about this a little sooner. Oh well. That’s life, eh. I guess I’ll just have to wait for the players that are coming out next year. The way I procrastinate another year will be no problem.

PigFarmer1,
If you’re still interested you may want to check out the following link:

They’re hand painted white metal figures - two teams and three umpires.
Couldn’t find this the other day on my Rolodex when you opened this thread. Kramer Products also has some interesting animated figures - a roofer, a standing brakeman, golfers putting, and a man fishing.

Marcus Giles is only 5’8". You might be able to deal for him.

Found some ball players suitable for O scale. They’re basically the HO ones on steroids.

By the time they’re called to testify before Congress, they should be back to HO scale again

No they don’t. I’ve check Woodland Scenics and they don’t carry Basketball players at all.

Rick,

Is there any reason why you dug up and responded to a nearly 7-year old thread [:S]??? The query is also on baseball, not basketball.
