HO BLI BlueLine C44-9W Or AC6000CW

What is the physical difference between HO BLI BlueLine C44-9W and an AC6000CW. Which one would you guys choose to buy. Which is a better deal. Keep in mind that I don’t want anything that is overpriced or that has low detail qualities.

Here is a web site that discusses the various GE locos and their spotting differences

I would choose the AC6000 as I don’t beleive that there has ever been a Blueline C44-9W? In fact I don’t think Broadway has made a C44 in any of its ranges.

Thanks for the feedback. Thats what I thought too.

The AC6000 is a pretty nice machine, I have the BLI CP Version, I changed it’s LEDs from blue toned to more true color. It is longer & more unique than a C44 or an AC4400. Both the C44 & AC4400 have different spotting features, I usually look at the conductors side, behind the cab. The Kato’s are nice units, but the newer Ath ones are not so bad either… Do some looking & really notice the Exhaust, Radatior Sizes, & especially what is behind the Conductors side of the cab. The GEVO’s have a thick double pitched Radiator Area when viewed from the front.
Once you look them over a bit, you will learn to spot them!

All A Board, are your rails held down with glue or rail spikes? Reason I ask is the Blue Line AC6000 speakers love to suck up lose rail spikes. My 6000 is side lined right now because of spikes stuck in the speaker’s box. Sounds god awful with the rattling. All so a real pain to take apart, last time it ate a spike I sent it back to BLI for repairs.

Far as tracking and pulling I would give it a 8+. Sucker pulls around 50 cars with no problem and tracks great. DCC decoder installs easily, you have to use a N or Z scale decoder. Sound with out a spike in the speakers is very good.

If only BLI had designed it where you could take the speaker cover (fuel tank) off with out removing the shell. [banghead]

Never had them issues…

We have 2 AC6000s, one with sound we added(QSI) and they are great. They are a GREAT puller. They add an interesting dynamic to the loco roster.
