HO CZ CARS

Any high income rollers out there considering these being offered by www.firsthobby.com Nov dely
made by Broadway?

60 bucks a car!!! do they have sound too or what??

$320.00 for a 2-10-4 hmmmm, seems a lot, wait ,I think I can get one in brass for @ $1,500.00 if I’m lucky, that would be about 4 1/2 locomotives from Broadway or one brass. OR maybe 4 brass locos for $6,000.00 decisions, decisions, decisions. Wouldn’t it be nice to be in this predicament.

Will they really be CZ cars? - or Generic cars with CZ letterboards??
Time will tell.
RE: ATSF 2-10-2 The ‘Fleet’ was 2-10-2’s that worked Cajon, Raton, and Tehachapi in multiples. The 4 truck version was a solitary experiment that prceeded ordering the larger wheeled 5000 class 2-10-4, and 5001 class, primarily for Mountainaire’s less than 2% grades.

I have a full set for the WP on reservation in addition to the F units for the train. They are coming plated to simulate stainless steel and according to BLI email, they will be the best ever including brass. I can only tell you what they wrote back when I inquired about the cars.
If you compare them to what is on the market in brass, they are inexpensive.

For $75.00 a car or what ever they are supposed to be. If I buy one, Not only should I hear bacon and eggs being coocked, I better smell them, and the roof better pop off and hand up a platter with them when they are done cooking.

Discounted they top out @ $62.00
I guess a call to Broadway is worth while to see if they will make the big Rosement show Oct.14
Can’t get a firm answer about Con-Cor"s Pioneer Z arrival there.

It’s too early to tell if Broadway will be attending the trade/manufacturer show
but they will be releasing two cars(names unknown) a month start in November.

This shouldn’t taken as a plug for them, but Max Model Trains has them for about $60.00 with a $5.00 discount for advance orders. That puts the cars at $55.00 each. They are also not (at this point) upping the price for the dome cars like I have seen elsewhere.

TO ME $35 TO $75 A CAR IS HIGH. AND FOR THE YOUNG PEOPLE IN THE HOBBY IT IS TOO HIGH.

I only wish I had that kind of bread to throw away on one car! Since most of my rolling stock and locos is all Athern, and I can get more bang for the buck buying them, thats where I’m going to stay![:D]

Although it sounds pricey, consider the cost of putting a Soundtrax DSX decoder in each of your cattle cars plus a set of trucks with wipers to pick up the current off the rail.

Now I understand you may only want one or two in a train, I can’t wait to hear back from someone who buys 20 of them and runs them all in one train (and you know someone out there will!)…I would imagine they will drown out the engine.

I’m low income but I can afford to dream.
I remember those babies zipping out of Chgo’s western burbs bumping 55 mph +
leaving behind a cloud of dust. That was a site.

$40 - $70 cars are for those that want to upgrade from Con Cor -which were an upgrade from Athearn - which were designed for the budget minded - and 22" curves.

“Too high for young people”? - SURE (and some non-newbies, too). That’s not the market they’re aimed at. 87’ Passenger cars need really broad curves to look right.

At one time the only thing we had were the Athearn. Today there is a CHOICE.

I’ll buy BLI cars when they look better than the ConCor. For example: CZ diner was unque. in brass they’re $250 - $500. If BLI has THAT car - I’ll pop, and willingly save $200. Only problem is if they’re too good, like Chuck, I may want to replace all the rest.

it’s called CACAPHONY!

EVER been in a room with everyone talking at once? I can’t envions anyoneREALLY putting that much money to have sound in a single car, let alone a fleet.
