HO engine review scale speed corrections

I’ve been posting some reviews of less expensive HO scale engines over the past half-year, and found that the guesses I made on the scale speed are wrong. I can now tell the actual scale speed because of an online calculator that I got a link to.(thanks, dingoix [:)])

Here are the actual scale speeds of the engines I’ve done reviews on.[:D]

Walther Trainline GP9M: 88.98 MPH
IHC Premier ALCO C-628: 136.89
IHC Premier 2-6-0 Mogul: 72.63
Bachmann Standard 4-8-4 Niagara: 111.22
Bachmann Spectrum F40PH (new version): 88.98
Tyco Power Torque Super 630: 122.73
Bachmann Spectrum Doodlebug: 50.84
Bachmann Spectrum DASH 8-40CW (new version): 74.15

Thanks for the correction DSF. Do you have a link to the GP9M review?

I am assuming you are using DC only. What is the track voltage you are measuring speed at?

Thanks.

Yes, I am only using DC. I don’t have DCC yet, and my layout is small enough that I don’t really need it.[:D]

I’m measuring the speed at 12 volts.[:D]
