HO guage

I inherited a lot of HO gauge railroad stuff (trains, tracks, model kits etc…). I am not a train hobbyist, know nothing about it and would like to know where to go to get an idea what this stuff is worth. Is there a website/forum I could join?

Most used HO doesn’t have a lot of value. There are some items that do, notably brass models and some unbuilt kits. Other than brass there is no established market or price guide. Particularly well done models may also have value.

I would suggest you use eBay to start with and match up your items to see what they are selling for. You could also check with model railroad hobby shops in your area they may have or know someone who could evaluate it (probably for a fee).

Good luck

Look for a model railroad club in your area. They usually have members who are into buying and selling. You may be able to sell the entire lot to a train collector from a club. Or, put it on Ebay piece by piece. You need a good well lit photograph of each item. Be sure to mention the gauge (HO), the maker of the model and the prototype railroad of which the model is a model of (Union Pacific, Santa Fe, etc, etc). If the box has survived be sure to show it in the photo.
