HO Hiawatha is being released?

I still haven’t heard any thing but rumor. Does anybody know if this is true?

I have a newphew who will be thrilled if it is.

This is the thread you may have heard about:

Unfortunately, it was an April Fools joke. So well done that a lot of people fell for it.

Which brings up the question - with all this interest, why don’t we have this model? Manufacturers, take notice!

Yes, as I recall the old Rivarossi 4-6-4 was a decent seller back in the 80’s-90’s. Now that I’m living near to the old Mpls/St.Paul - Chicago mainline, an HO Hiawatha (steam powered) would be great !! Kinda annoying you can get a RTR Hiwatha in O but not HO !!

I did get a news letter from Peachcreek Shops mentioning that a company would announce a Hiawatha this week. That being said, it is Thursday already and nothing yet. I would like to see a 1952 Hiawatha. To get this set in brass will run you over $2000 easy, if not more. I lot of different engines would work with that set and they could even do he colors version of it.

What we need is the 1937 rib-side version (I’ve already got 5 others from 1934 to 53). The Rivarossi Hudson was a NYC w/ a modified nose casting. Didn’t reall cut it, especially the tender

Yes,

I’d buy a streamlined Hudson or Atlantic if it was a PCM, Broadway Limited, Life Like, or Bachmann product.

Broadway Limited and PCM have been releasing several steamers lately. 1 I thought I’d never see was the New Haven Streamlined Hudson, so maybe Broadway or PCM would make a Hudson or an Atlantic. Both wold be nice, along with a atching set of streamliners.

PCM has recently released Daylight streamlined passenger cars and soon a GS-4 will be out, so lets see if we can’t send a few suggestions their way. I’d love to see a Pennsy Streamlined K4 or the Torpedo as well. But, we sadly musn’t get out hopes up.

All I’d know is, I’d buy both locomotives, and a set of passenger cars if they were made.

Cheese

There is a rumor that a Hiawatha is being released. It has been posted everywhere, and was susposed to be announced this week.

That is the reason why I made the Walthers page with the Hiawatha, because Walthers has plans in the future (near or far) to release one.
