Kato is having a sale on thier old NW2 shells for 9.98 a piece with all details in several roads. Ive got a proto SW9 and was woundering if it would be possible to use the kato shell on it?
Personally I have never done one of those conversions, but anything is possible if you have the time and no how. Best thing to start with is if you do this,try doing 95% of the mods to the chassis if you can. That way you don’t destroy the shell. It could be a slip fit, but don’t hold your breath. Good luck.
A little filing on the frame, a little trimming where the side of the hood starts to angle in, and removing the tabs on the running boards. I just finished my first and am working on 2 more.

I was just at the Kato website, but I did not see any NW2 shells for sale. Am I looking at the right website? The ones I saw were all $25.
