Hi all, Im new to this site. Im hoping someone can help me out. Im a big train fan, both model railroads and live railroads, i reside in Edmonton AB Canada and have had family that worked for the NAR and the BC Rail. I have a great start to my collection of brass model locomotives, however im looking for a few units in particular. Up here it is very hard to find quality brass models so ive been searching state side and have my name on many want lists. I am looking for 3 Overland Models brass units, these are:
Overland Models RS-18u - PGE, British Columbia Railways, and/or BC Rail
If you’ve not already done so, contact Dan at Brass Trains. He has a large selection of brass and usually a good-size portion of it is Canadian roadnames. A good friend of mine has purchased several steam locos from him and is very pleased with both the prices and the service.
Chad, there is a BC Rail Dash 8 up for auction right now… its a custom painted overland model unit…
I have placed my info on want lists with a number of companies including Overland Models themselves, Brasstrains.com, and a few other companies within the USA and Canada. I will be picking up the latest issue of Model Railroader and placing an add within the classifieds area of the magazine. Again thank you all for the information.[:D]
Don’t forget EBay. There’s not a constant inventory, so you have to check constantly. Also, Many hobby shops and dealers sell their inventory through EBay stores to save on overhead and many times have inventory that is a little less expensive. There is also the private collectors that are selling off pieces from a model railroader’s estate and want an easy way to sell off the merchandise without having to get into a whole tax/legal issue, hence the beauty of EBay.
I’ve also found that if I Google the particular piece that I’m looking for, I’m often led to a website that may have it
Again I appreciate the info, I emailed Web Hobbies this morning, im hoping he got it and my message didnt go as spam… just to be safe I also signed up as a member to his site. Google is actually how I found out the Omi product numbers for these particular locos. Ebay, no worries I dont forget them, i have to charge my cell phone at least once a day searching through ebay! Oh how I wish high speed was offered to rural Alberta!!! [:$]
