HO Military

I’m looking for some information for a friend of mine on 5 ton military wreckers/tow trucks in H O. Is there any out there, and if so, who makes them and where can he get them?

John

The only thing even remotely resembling a 5 ton military wrecker or tow truck in HO is shown on page 685 of the 2008 Walthers catalog – a Kenworth Tow Truck made by Model Power, catalog number 490-30006.

How old of a wrecker are you looking for? I found this one that appears to be on an FMTV:

http://www.fidelismodels.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=EM1157&Product_Code=Trident_81005&Category_Code=50

That would be very new.

This one that looks like no wrecker I ever saw in 28 years and 11 months in the Army:

I have not done business with Fidelis Models but it seems like they have all the 1/87 military equipment one could use.

ROCO now issued by HERPA makes a M545 5 ton wrecker. Herpa is re-working the line and many models are on the market. The M545 was used in the 1960-1980 time frame.

Correction–The Herpa web site only lists a M936A1 wrecker. Herpa #740609

Thanks to all for the replies! Much appreciated.
