HO NMRA TRACK GUAGE

Guess those track guages are hard to come by.

I ordered one from Internet Trains on the sixth of August, but have not recieved it.

I e-mailed the company and they said they were waiting for their shipment to arrive.

In the meantime, they done socked my credit card for it. I feel this is strange.

Usually a company won’t charge the item, until it is boxed up, and ready to ship.[?]

That’s why I order things online through Walther’s web site. If the item is out of stock, they tell you on the site.

Yeah, we have ordered from Walthers, but via snail mail.

I was trying to spread my money around a little bit- not to shop in (on?) one place.

The one I have been using, “Wholesale Trains,” probably would have taken months to get here. I have other orders with them- don’t really care how long it takes for those orders, if they ever arrive- but I DO need the guage now.

Wearing my thumbs out. Though they are big, they don’t guage too accurately.[:I][:o)]

I’d just try other sources, MB Klein, Trainworld, etc., though don’t know if the bigger discount on line shops carry “little” (though important things to most of us) items like an NMRA guage. Though Walther’s service is very good, most MRR’s comments that I’ve read on this forum tend to avoid them because of their prices (i.e., usually MSRP).

I have had good service from internet hobbies.com

How about ordering NMRA products directly from the NMRA. Thats what I do.

You said the Magic Words, “Internet Trains”. That is the one company I have had major problems with. I have ordered 3 times from them and had trouble twice. It was always somebody elses fault. They don’t appear to stock products but order them in after you order form them. Then you have to wait for trhe manufacturer to make it and ship it to them. In the mean time they put a hold on your credit card for the money.

Hummm… Something I never thought about.

Thanks for the tip.[:O]

It is a strange way to do business.

I have ordered things off the internet several times, not just for hobbies- but engine parts, and other unrelated items, and this is the FIRST time I have had this happen.

It almost seems like a fly-by-night setup, but I know it is NOT the case.
