I am a ho modeler myself and have a 10x10 foot layout. I was wondering if anyone has some pictures of their layout I could see?
Go to http://users.ssvecnet.com/cacole for pictures of the Cochise & Western Model Railroad Club’s 20x40 foot HO scale layout.

still workin on it… of course, it’s never done
Here is a link to some pictures of my layout.
That’s a great looking layout. Just one question: are you using BRASS track or is the discoloration just from some form of weathering? From what I have heard that stuff is awful.

Thanks! feed back from folks on this forum makes it worthwhile. To answer your question:
“Some” (2%) of the spur tracks in the yard are in fact brass, the rest of the layout 98%
is nickel silver. Yes it is awful, 2 years ago it was all brass but I ripped up most of it and replaced it because I was converting to DCC.
The biggest problem with brass is keeping it clean, I have to resort to taking sand paper or a sanding disc with a dremmel tool to it to clean that stuff, kind of a pain in the butt.
Though I only have to clean that once in a while, the main lines and through trackage in the yard and the trolley line are nickel silver. Those get cleaned twice a week with a CMX clean machine due to the lack of a ceiling in my basement, though I just got done covering it with plastic so this might help me out in the cleaning department on my layout.
Now I use all the old brass track I have laying around to do sketches for the expantion that is taking place right now on my layout. It’s kinda handy, I piece it all together so I know exactly how much track to buy and where to cut it. Then just replace it with good track. (I’ll post pictures of this tonight for all to see what I’m talking about)
Never a dull moment in this hobby, and we all learn something new everyday it seems.

It has changed some, I will update the pics in a few months. Its been to nice to be in the basement all summer. But with the 5-6 months of winter approching I will get a lot more done.

Link to some old pics of my layout under my signature. Since the pics the backdrop and fascia are about done, one yard is in and working on track on the branch lines. Mainline is done also.
