Even cheaper when you get the unpainted Presier 120pc packs when Walthers/Terminal Hobby has a sale. Yes, you invest time in labor and also paint (although a few bottles of paint, mixed to produce other colors, will last for 100s of figures - there was a discussion of this in a thread last month). Note the undecorated packs seem to be made up from other sets (which is fine), and also tend to be somewhat stuck in the 1970s/1980s (which requires a bit of fussing to bring them to recent times). I usually decorate 10-12 at a time, since you have to sand, pare, and file the flash, and some of the molding errors too, before painting.
Fool I am, I forgot to get the undecorated drivers when Terminal had a sale on them recently [sigh] (I use some of the less useful or duplicate sitting people, legs and thighs sanded to almost nothing, to populate my scale vehicles).
[V] I dunno - does your spouse have to fit between a very high hard plastic seat, and a very thick clear plastic windshield, so that the lack of feet and ankles would not be apparent to an outside observer? And more importantly, is she made of white styrene so that she can be patched with Squadron putty if you sand too much?
