HO Rivarossi Blue Goose

I have a Rivarossi HO Blue Goose, as the locomotive goes down the track it wobbles a bit and shakes, the motor runs fine, it pulls a eight car passenger set just fine, the wobble occures with or without the cars attached. what could cause this??[?]
The wheels??

Jeff

Hello Jeff,

The wobble that you describe is probably caused by the locomotive’s traction tire. These clear plastic tires add quite a bit to a locomotive’s drawbar pull, but are often not truly round. To eliminate the wobble you could try replacing the traction tire, or try to true up the one you have by holding an emery board or fine sanding stick against the tire while you run the locomotive upside down.

And thank you for signing your name.

Good luck,

Andy

Thank you very much for your help on this, I will take a look at the traction tires.
Jeff

I looked at the wheels and it seems that 2 on one side have a rubber traction tire, what is the best way to remove the traction tire, and I guess I can run the locomotive with out the traction tires.??
