HO scale Amtrak dumb question

Being I don’t have an LHS where I can see model railroad stuff in person, here is my dumb question. Based on the pictures of HO scale Amtrak passenger cars that I’ve seen, I would assume Superliner cars are not compatible with non superliner cars,is this correct?

For Superliners to be used with a low level car, there would have to be a transition sleeper. That sort of sleeper has a low level door on one end.

Accessibility wise, you are correct, but they will couple to any car like normal. What I’m told, SAuperliner Diaghprams, being so much higher than everything else, Amtrak runs a “spacer” baggage car between them and the signle levels (or an engine) if they are just ferrying empty cars around, eityher mpty supers a-la the cardinal or empty single-levels on the back of a Superliner train. (loaded cars would of course, use a transition sleeper so the crew can move between them though not always. Santa Fe actually used a full-height diapghram, so that while you couldn’t get into the car without a transition sleeper, the diaghram pads were always hitting diaghram pads and prevented damage in that way
