HO Scale Bachmann Shays-Metal Gears

FYI loggers- Not sure how long they’ve been available but Bachmann has the complete Shay truck assemblies back in stock, and they are equipped with metal gears instead of the old plastic splitters.

Rather pricey at $32.00 a truck (NWSL gears are available)

I wonder if another run of the Shay is in the plans?

Bachmann HO 80 Ton 3 Truck Shay Locomotive - Last Featured in the Bachmann Catalog 2010.
Now listed as DISCONTINUED in the online Bachmann Parts catalog.
If anyone wants parts, get them while they are available.

Has anyone bought the new Bachmann (complete) trucks with the metal gears? I would like to know that someone has had success before I spend the $100 x2 or x3 for my Shays …

I just received two new metal gear equipped trucks for one of my Bachmann Shays, I oiled them up and installed, and let it break in for a couple of hours, all good at this point. The gears were blackened btw

Note: For clarity, this loco was originally a 3 truck Shay that I had modified to a 2 Truck, hence the reason for only needing two. (see pic below)
