I am following a track plan in a book by Kalmbach Publishing that references all scales with grid lines - you know the type. The lines are 1" part for HO and so on. I am building the layout in HO and in 2 spots the layout calls for a 15 degree crossing where a double track main line curves to the right and crosses over each other to split off - making 2 tracks 4. I have found lots of 15 degree crossings in N scale, but I am unbale to find a 15 degree crossing in HO.
It looks as if it would be very tight, so I am assuming that it is a N scale measurement only. Does anyone know what this converts to in HO? Is it 30 degrees?

No. 15 degrees in N scale is still 15 degrees in HO or the prototype. The only thing that changes is lengh, width and hight.
[:(][banghead] I did some research to find a 15 degree crossing and there seems to be no such animal in HO scale. The closes if found was a 14 degree made by BK Enterprises and they’re 40 buck each! [:O][wow] Looks like you have three options.
1)Change the track plan so the 14 degree crossings would work or eliminate them and use a flyover.

Forget about the track plan and find another plan in HO.

Do what the old timers did before sectional track exisited. Hand lay them! A lot cheaper than 40 dollars each and they can’t be as difficult to make than a turnout. At least try one and see if it works. If not, all you wasted was a piece of track that you ripped the rails from and some wood ties. Even if it turns to scrap, you can weather it and pile it up next to the right of way like the prototype.
However I bet you get it right and it works for you and you’ll have so much confidence, you’ll be handlaying double slip switches by the dozen. [swg]
