Howdy to all,
I want to model Ethanol coming into Southern California by rail, and unloading at a Ethanol fuel depot. I’ve searched the web for some pictures of a Ethanol Fuel Depot but it must be some sort of National Security issue because I can’t find any. Can you guys help me out? I want to see, or know what it looks like.
Thanks for your time, Walter
That’s a good idea. I never thought of modeling an ethanol terminal.
I know that they just completed one in Rhode Island, and three, 80 tank car trains a week are scheduled to come from the midwest via CSX to this facility. I have not seen an pictures yet, but if you do a web search for Rhode Island, Ethanol Facility, etc, you might get lucky. I am not sure if the facility is in Providence or another city in RI, but being a tiny state, it should not be hard to find. I will keep an ear to the ground for any more info and post it here.
Thanks Dick,
With our new air laws in California I for see a lot of tankers heading our way from the mid-west. Email me if any of you find anything on this subject. Texdex@aol.com I found one little picture on one of many search’s. Unfortunately I didn’t mark that page, and have not been able to find it again. It was saying the tanker come into unloading hub… something like that. I know the hub part is right. [:D].
Keep those trains a moving, Walter
Theres a Shell Terminal in California that recieves ethanol from the midwest. Usually RFMG tank cars. Its basically just a tank farm and the splash blend the ethanol with gasoline as it is being loaded into trucks. Here’s an article with a picture of the loading.
