HO scale Kress scrap box carrier {steel mill related} finnished model photos

Hello all,

I posted a brief message and photos two weeks ago regarding this model.Time has pasted and I’ve added all the details to this new carrier, including all the hydraulic hoses and the load lift cylinders. This should be on the 1/87 vehicle site in the coming days. I think it turned out rather well considering I didn’t have a scale ruler to work by.

and the last photo is both of the kress carriers side by side standing tall { or at least HO scale tall }

Regards to yaz…

You definately spent some time building those. Now, will those be used in like a rock quarry or will they be used for hauling dirt? I’ve never even seen one of these things and by the way it looks… I like it.

Keep up the good work!!

James

Hello James,

Both of these machines are used in steel mills around the world. The orange one is a hot metal ladle carrier and the other is a 1970’s design scrap box carrier. The scrap box carrier is for transporting scrap metal from the on site scrap yard to the BOF or electric arc furnace.

Patrick,

There’s another masterpiece like all your other heavy-equipment models - well done!

James,
