Ho scale Locomotive Servicing building

I was wondering what best Kit for somebody who never built a kit before is for a Ho scale Locomotive Servicing building Thanks for any info.

The pikestuff kit is very easy, comes in single or double bays

It would depend on the era you are modeling. But, I would check the Walthers site.

On my first layout, I had the Walthers Diesel fueling facility, and the Pike Stuff single bay engine shed. It looked good I thought.

I think it depends greatly on the era and size of your layout. Maybe you could provide more information?

Its going to be used for a 4 ft * 3 ft diorama for a shortline Railroad that in the current time period 2013 ,I’m build the diorama so it could be used with my layout or by it self .

I think the Pike Stuff product would be a realistic, affordable option. You can basically build those kits to suit your needs.

As already recommended, I think Pikestuff is the way to go. Especially since you have a small space and because you are modeling present day. This is my Pikestuff two bay engine servicing facility. It allows you to pretty much place windows and doors anywhere you want to. I am using mine as a coal dump shed for my power plant complex.

Good Luck

Pikestuff is good. Here is mine.

Looking good Derek and Handy.

Thanks for the info and photos

These are both very nice. I have to ask, where did you guys get the roof top bling?

Thanks Jim,

My “roof top bling” is Walthers rooftop details, part of their modular building series.

nice work GandyDancer

for a shortline…depending on what part of the country you are in…could be a few shed for an office, a shed for tool and sand bag storage, just a covered area to work in to stay out of the sun/rain, and then have a fuel truck drive up next to the track to top it off.

Im a fan of the Pikestuff single-bay kit
