Precision Scale Company (www.precisionscaleco.com) for brass loco parts of all types.
Tichy Train Group for cast resin stuff - particularly such items as K-type airbrakes.
What’re you modeling? I’m freelancing 1913-era Colorado.
Both Westerfield and Funaro & Carmelengo will sell you any part off any of their resin freight cars, and MANY of their offerings are from your time period.
Bowser makes a huge line of brass and white metal detail parts, many of which are appropriate for the 1900-ish period.
Hi Allen,
I pulled out my PSC catalog. Here are some likely part numbers.
HO-31633
Old style oil headlight
HO-3076
Oil type, D&RGW
Both of the above are the large, box style lamps common to TOC motive power. I think some may have been converted to electric in some cases when this became required, but that depnds on your prototype.
PSC also lists this:
HO-31863
W/bracket, C&NW Pioneer
This looks like a smaller version of the above box style headlight…
Mike Lehman
Urbana, IL
Thanks guys,
That’s just what I needed. I will be ordering the PSC catalogs.
Rob, I am modeling a frelanced coal and passenger branch in W.Virginia in 1905.
See my site: http://modelrr.adbyrne.us/ for my plans.

Looks great! One other thought - I posted on this a couple of days ago, but I strongly suggest looking for Tratman’s book on track (use those search terms on Alibris.com or Amazon.com) - if you can get your hands on the 1901 or 1909 editions, they have lots of interesting stuff on turn-of-the-century ballasting and lineside detail (Tratman included lots of sample signage, diagrams showing techniques for earthen ballasting, you name it).
Don’t forget the good old Cal-Scale parts.
That, of course, would be the Cal-Scale division of Bowser…
