Does anyone know of a particular manufacturer that makes HO scale seating eating people. I am building a 50’s diner and want to detail the interior. I am also looking for some scale restaurant equipment. I was wondering if there is anything on the market, or am I going to have to scratch build everything.
Do a search on Walthers’ website for Preiser figures. They have many sets, including seated ones. Also unpainted sets are much cheaper.
Do a search on ebay and you will find who makes them. Lots of choices.

Preiser has a couple of sets that should work
Seated Diners has 6 painted figures for retail $14.99

However Seated Passengers has a bunch of unpainted seated figures that includes diners for retail $13.99, a much better deal if you do not mind doing some painting

Both are presently out of stock, the unpainted ones are due in a few days and the painted oned in about a month
I agree with tese guys, look at Prieser. I bought sevberal of Walthers UP “Cities Trains” cars and added some passengers, there were a couple sets that worked well in the diners - many figures were from the “economy” set of painted, seated passengers. I can’t remember the number right now, but it had about 2 dozen people and was in the Walthers’ sales flyer. Preser also makes some nice people eating. The Preiser figures are a bit expensive but they are about the best castings of people in the general market. I did a little detail painting and had to trim a couple poses legs so that they would fit in the dining cars, but the overall effect is pretty good - especially in my dome-diner.
Thanks for the information about the people. I think I will try the Walthers site in a couple days to see if they have come in, and until then, I will check out ebay.
Life Like via Micro Mark has inexpensive Model Power seat passenger sets (72 for about $11). And keep in mind, if using in passenger cars, you needn’t waste time painting below the belt as they can’t be seen - and you have to clip the legs to make them fit. Likewise if using in a diner car.
And even then, you only see an indication someone is sitting there especially when the train is moving.
MicroMark also has 72 pc sets of unpainted figures for $12.95 one is all seated peope with benchs.
Here’s another set of Preiser figures eating, and this one is in stock. Although their feet and legs are cut off for use in tight spaces:
Some nice diner style interior details can be found in this set:
Not in stock but in “transit” so should be arriving shortly. A bit pricey though and a lot of unused items for what you are doing.
Make sure you use some HO scale anesthesia, or lots of whiskey (on you or them, doesn 't matter)

Then take the “little legs” and plant them in the backyard and grow a new crop of “little people”!!! ;-]

I’ve got a bunch of the Preiser figures. They look great sitting in my GO passenger cars. The problem I have is I need about 60 per car which is kind of expensive.
