anyone out there aware of a manufacturer that makes an HO scale roof top drain. I am thinking of one like the real one at this website
The first thing that came to mind was using the Walthers rooftop vent set 933-3733, and carefully slicing the top of the whirlybird vent (second from right) in half.
That would give you two roof drains. The ones where I work are a bit larger than the one in your photo., closer to 18" diameter.
Plus you would get some other nifty roof details thrown in. Otherwise, it looks like it wouldn’t be too tough to scratch build.
Have fun, Ed
@Ed - Hey that is a great idea. I have a few of these left over from the set I bought a while ago. I think that will make a great vent! Thanks
The detail on the drains is so small, I just cut up some sprue, glue in in place and paint a dark color. Kind of hard to see from this in progress photo from a few years ago of Sheepscott Transfer and Storage. I painted these old silver.
Not a bad idea. Do you have a close up of these?
I do not have a close up right now. I just cut chunks off a sprue that was 1/8" or slightly less in diameter, glued them in a pattern on the roof and painted them. To get them straight, I laid a grid with a ruler and pencil on the roof
