HO scale scratch built tugs & barges for the future wharf

Hello all,

Haven’t posted much lately on the MR forum. Been far to busy building two tugs and three barges for the future wharf. Instead of buying these models at an inflated price,I thought why not scratch build the buggers ?

The first one is a river tug losely based on a real river /push pull tug. The second tug was a much smaller work tug.Last but not least three different barges. A spud barge {still working on this one} a 400 ton coal barge and a scrap hauling barge. These were very easy to build, I’d say the one of the more easy project to build. Also in the mix…a lake ore boat, built from a toy aircraft carrier hull {gonna be working on this for a while}.

I’ll be building a shed for my empire in Feb 07. So I deciced to scratch build as much as possible without having to buy everything at once. Shoot the shed will be the easy part…building the steel mill empire, well thats the hard part. But at least i’ll have most everything already built and no goofing around with the detail models at the last minute.

If some of you would like pictures of these scratch built models ,let me know and I’ll post them.
